Cincinnati Opening Day!

I made this design to celebrate the start of another Cincinnati Red's season! I hope I'm wrong...

My 13 year old came up with this one .... not quite sure what it means, but he liked it ..... I must be a Noob, aye?

I was thinking about Dick Cheney and all of his recent press .... When this Vice President gig is over, I'm confident he can find gainful employment in another line of work. "Dick'll treat you right!

Spring in Cincinnati

I can't believe it's the end of March... Cold in Cincy today. Easter is just around the corner. Here's a cool Easter Bunny graphic I created in Photoshop. I've got this graphic on 38 different items in my Easter Shop . Cafepress has 1,000's of Easter-inspired apparel available on-line.

My parents came down from MI on their way to North Caralina ... doing a little geneology research. You try and look interested, but its hard to do.

This one is a little different ... If there ever was a Rock Paper Scissors Midwest Regionals, you know Cincinnati would be all over it. Cornhole and Rock Paper Scissors ... the two main sports in Cincinnati. I do miss the Red Wings and the Pistons. They don't get a lot of press down here. You wouldn't even know that Ohio has an NHL team.

Who doesn't love dirt. This one is perfect for those "kids of all ages" who always seem to find a way to get messy!

Cincinnati Weekend!

This shirt says it all ... I thought the design looked good on black. Check it out in The Get In, Sit Down, Hold On, and Shut Up" Shop!

Another week down here in Cincinnati. Looking forward to the weekend! I work in Dairy Merchandising here in Cincinnati ... if it comes out of a cow, I deal with it.

Did your dad ever say this to you? I thought it would be perfect for a "big sister" . I grew up with 2 brothers and there was a few times where I wish I could have fed them to the pigs...

Cincinnati has an infatuation with pigs. The Flying Pig marathon is coming up on May 7th..

Is it to early to start thinking about college football? The Final Four is almost complete. This one has some of that U of M Maize & Blue. The civilized chant!

"The Big House" is an awesome place to watch a football game, though the seats are a little tight ... especially when they squeeze over 100K in there.

This one is perfect for the PT Cruiser Lover in your life ... a retro-rally look.

Cafepress is hosting all of my designs. It's a great way to feature your work. They produce and ship all of the products for you. The Cafepress Market place features over 22 million products. You can find items under 1,000's of different topics ... politics, pets, dogs, humor, etc....

PT Cruiser "PurePT"

I drive a 2002 Taupe Frost PT Cruiser Touring Edition. My wife calls it my "old fart" car. I like it, tho. It's not the quickest, but it has a cool retro-look to it. I like to mess around with Adobe Photoshop and I took an image of my car and super-imposed it on a picture I took at Niagara Falls. This is a picture of a 11X17 mini poster.

There were close to 600 PT Cruisers that showed up for the 2004 Cruise The Falls Cruise. These people are fanatics. Here are some PT Cruiser graphics that I created w/ Photoshop

Cincinnati Chili

What is it about Cincinnati and their infatuation with Chili? Some of the guys I work w/ eat a Three Way almost every day. I'll level with you ... it's a "bowl of spaghetti." And don't get me started on "Cornhole" It's a backyard game that everyone in Cincinnati plays. It even has an official website. I will admit that I broke down and picked up a set for Christmas. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, tho. I think its a game for people afraid of horseshoes. Those shoes are pretty heavy and an errant throw could leave a nasty bruise if it connected with your shin (Ohioans are a little cautious).

I made these retro-look shirts to recognize these great Cincinnati traditions!

Happiness is ...

My 13 year old told me this quote the other day ... I thought it would make a great design for a t-shirt ... (Happiness is ... Shirt Shop).
Kind of says it all, doesn't it?

Cincinnati ... Who Dey

This graphic is from my t-shirt shop (tdks Designs), it has somewhat of a designer-look to it. I think it has attitude.

At least everyone stopped running around screaming Who Dey! anymore. Couple of minor annoyances about Cincinnati ... When someone doesn't understand what you said, they say "Please?" instead of "Huh" or "come again". It took awhile to figure out why people kept saying "Please?" all the time (a little irritating).

In every state, drivers fly around w/ reckless abandon going 70+ miles per ... here in Ohio the speed limit is capped at 65 ... Aren't Ohio drivers confident enough in the driving abilities to go 70? After I moved down from MI, I had to register for an Ohio drivers license. They make you take a 50 question test (a tad excessive). No wonder the speed limit is 65.

There's a Skyline Chili restaurant on the first floor of my office building downtown.. It's the goofiest thing to see all these execs sucking down their Three Way Bean wearing bibs! Makes for great lunch time entertainment.

Looking forward to King's Island opening up next month. It's always a good time.

Here's a new design that'll bring out your inner child. LLPOF (Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire). There's 30 different items you can put this design on. White Tees, Black Tees, Sweatshirts, Baby Bibs ...

Cincinnati - "Somewhere Over the Rhine"

Cincinnati & Detroit struggle with many of the same issues ... blight, crime, murder, debt... although Cincinnati's new mayor isn't quite as flamboyant as Detroit's. Both cities are "on the river" and across from a foreign country (Kentucky's kind of foreign).

Welcome to tdks Designs!

This Blog is kind of like a platinum Master Card ... once I finally got around to setting one up, it wasn't anything special. I think my grandma even has a knitting Blog.

I just cycled my first year and a half here in Cincinnati after spending most of my life in SE Michigan. Moving from the northern suburbs of Detroit to the northern suburbs of Cincinnati wasn't a huge leap. We'll have to spend some time looking at the similarities and differences between the Motor City and the Queen City.

I still haven't acquired a taste for the world famous Cincinnati-style Skyline Chili. It's just a bowl of spaghetti to me.

Cornelia is big down here. Set a couple of inclined boards up 20 feet apart and toss bags through the hole. It's like horseshoe-lit.

I created a couple of t-shirt designs just for Cincinnati. These and a few others are displayed in my shop ... tdks_Designs.
